Jackson County Sheriff’s Office: vehicle-deer crash, 8:59 p.m. Thursday, U.S. 71 just south of Jackson.

JCSO: one-vehicle crash with injuries, 9:37 p.m. Thursday, Jackson County 9 and Jackson County 14 in Rost Township. Janiris Ramos Rodriguez, Lakefield, was driving a 2015 Chevy Malibu that left the roadway and entered the ditch. Lakefield Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office: deputy assisted the Jackson Ambulance with a medical call, 2:31 a.m. Thursday.

JCSO: deputy responded to a report of a student under the influence of alcohol at Jackson County Central High School, 9:39 a.m. Thursday.

JCSO: assisted Lakefield Police Department with a disturbance, 10:32 a.m. Thursday.

JCSO: received a report of a theft from a parked vehicle in downtown Jackson, 10:59 a.m. Thursday. Prescription medications and cash were stolen from inside the vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.

JCSO: responded to a report of burglary and theft in Jackson, 5:04 p.m. Thursday. A garage was entered and two chainsaws were stolen. The matter remains under investigation.

Lyon County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office: arrested a George, Iowa, man for operating while impaired first offense and failure to maintain seat belt after a traffic stop Saturday near the intersection of East Dakota Avenue and North Williams Street in George.
