ROSEVILLE — Roseville-based nonprofit Every Meal announced Thursday it has distributed 10 million meals to Minnesota children. Founded in 2010, Every Meal provides weekend bags of food to 690 students in Worthington.

Every Meal’s mission is to end food insecurity for Minnesota children by filling the food gaps they face on weekends, extended breaks and summer when they’re unable to access school meal programs.

The nonprofit has a goal of raising $1 million in December, which will be used to provide 750,000 meals to Minnesota children on weekends. Every Meal’s food bags are distributed at over 500 locations across the state.

More than 300,000 Minnesota children face food insecurity on any given night. Every week during the school year, students enrolled in Every Meal’s Weekend Meal Program receive food bags containing 4 to 5 pounds of shelf-stable fruits, vegetables, proteins and grains to have enough food for the weekend.

To help Every Meal reach its goal, visit everymeal.org/give. Gifts are being doubled through Dec. 31 thanks to a $500,000 from the Otto Bremer Trust and a friend of Every Meal.
