HUTCHINSON — The Southwest Minnesota Arts Council board voted on March 28 to award $43,247 in grant funds.
Among recipients from this area are the Jackson Center for the Arts, which was awarded $9,915 to update the lighting, electrical and venting system in the basement of the center to prepare for the installation of a community kiln and potters wheel, and to create more spaces for classes and open studio opportunities.
Also awarded a grant was the Wilder Pageant in Walnut Grove, which will receive $10,000 to upgrade the presentation of its production with a fake snow machine, special lighting, rear screen projector, and fire burst effect.
