Library News: Week of April 16, 2023

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Here are five interesting statistics from the Nobles County Library (Worthington) so far this year:

• The most circulated item: mobile hotspots
• The top five adult DVDs checked out: “Watcher”, “Ticket to Paradise”, “Till”, “Top Gun” and “She Said”.
• The top five childrens DVDs checked out: “Puss in Boots”, “Charlotte’s Web 2”, “Tom and Jerry’s Greatest Chases”, “The Adventures of Little Brown Bear” and “The Chronicles of Narnia”.
• The top five magazines checked out: People, Time, Bottom Line Personal, Good Housekeeping and Prevention.
• The top five adult fiction books checked out: “Ordinary Grace” by William Kent Krueger, “Remarkable Bright Creatures: A Novel” by Shelby Van Pelt, “Just the Nicest Couple” by Mary Kubica, “Maybe Someday” by Colleen Hoover and “Lessons in Chemistry: A Novel” by Connie Garmus.

Participants are responsible for their own ride to and from the library. Please stop by the library or call (507) 295-5340 to sign up your children

Monday, April 17: Wii for students in Grades 5-9 after school until 4:45 p.m.

Tuesday, April 18: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Wednesday, April 19: Story Time (toddlers and preschoolers), 10 to 11 a.m.; Just Gurlz (for girls in grades 5-9) after school until 4:45 p.m.

Thursday, April 20: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Monday, April 24: Wii for students in Grades 5-9 after school until 4:45 p.m.

Tuesday, April 25: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game: 5:15 to 6:45 p.m., every Monday through May 22. Please call or stop in to register!

Friends of the Library Book Club: 6 p.m. April 24, discussing the book, “The Seed Keeper” by Diane Wilson. Please join in person at the library or on Zoom. All are welcome.

Now showing: annual Area Art Show. The show will remain open through June 30.

Art Club: Art Club meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost to join and all are welcome to join in the fun!
