Library News: Week of Feb. 19, 2023

Library closed Feb. 20 in observance of President's Day.

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Nobles County Libraries will be closed Monday, Feb. 20, in observance of President's Day.

MORE EDUCATION NEWS
We currently have positions open including K-12 teachers, school psychologists, speech and language pathologists, paraprofessionals, custodians and food service staff at all ISD 518 facilities.
The organizations hope to create scholarships for high school graduates entering college in an agriculture-related field.
The USDA is working towards offering healthier meals for children at school, by lowering added sugar and sodium to food products.

Participants are responsible for their own ride to and from the library. Please stop by the library or call (507) 295-5340 to sign up your children

Monday, Feb. 27: Wii (for grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 28: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Winter Reading Program: The Winter Reading Program continues through March 31. Visit either Nobles County library branch to sign up and get your punch card. Read 12 books (or audio/e-books) and bring your punch card back to choose your prize. After you’ve turned in your completed card(s), fill out a raffle ticket for the Grand Prize drawing in one of three categories — men, women and teen. You must be at least 16 years old to participate.

Friends of the Library Book Club: The next meeting is at 6 p.m. Feb. 27, to discuss “The Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tan. All are welcome!

Art Center

The Art Center is located in the basement of the Nobles County Library and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Seeking artists: Artists are sought to enter in the annual Area Art Show. This is open to anyone who lives in or within 100 miles of Worthington. Please e-mail the Art Center at noblesarts407@gmail.com or stop in the Art Center to get a form to enter.

Art Club: Anyone interested in joining the Art Club is invited to attend our meetings at 5:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. This month’s theme is “A Country/Nation.” All are welcome to join.
