WORTHINGTON — Declaration of a state of emergency for Nobles County is the only action item on the agenda for Monday's emergency meeting of the Nobles County Board of Commissioners, set to begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Nobles County Government Center.
"... the County of Nobles, Minnesota, has sustained losses of a significant proportion from straight-line winds during spring storms starting as of May 11th 2022," the proposed emergency declaration states. "...the straight-line winds thunderstorm event has caused significant damage to public and private property..."
The declaration also notes that the Nobles County Department of Emergency Management is requesting that the board declare the county in a state of emergency for the straight-line winds and severe thunderstorm event of May 2022.
The state of emergency is set to last for a period not to exceed 30 days.
In order to take effect, the board will need to vote on the resolution, which will then be signed by Chairman Donald Linssen.
