PIPESTONE — Spring Stargazing will return to Pipestone National Monument at 8 p.m. April 29. Ranger Gabe Yellowhawk will talk about Dakota and Lakota constellations in the visitor center theater.

Star gazing will begin at 8:30 p.m. with Drs. Grau and Browning and Astrophotography with Marty Dewitt. Participants are encouraged to bring their DSLR or mirrorless camera and tripod.

This is a relaxed event, so feel free to also bring telescopes or binoculars and hang out with other night sky enthusiasts. Please arrive by 8 p.m. so vehicle headlights don’t negatively impact the event.

The event is free and open to the public, including cider, cocoa and snacks, while supplies last. Bring layers and any questions about the cosmos you may have! In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled for May 6.
