Registration open for MK5K run and family fun walk

WORTHINGTON — The 13th annual MK5K run and family fun walk, a fundraiser for the local organization and the Mary Kay Foundation, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3, at the Nobles County Fairgrounds in Worthington.

Professional researcher Debbie Boe will give an introduction to family history research for new genealogists.
Greg and Cindy DeGroot offered a matching fund of up to $100,000 through the Legacy Partners program of Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation.
Awards were announced during Friday’s annual FORWARD Worthington Extravaganza at Lerma’s Event Center.

The MK 5K Run and Family Fun Walk is an in-person out and back 5K run or 2-mile walk in support of the Southwest Crisis Center and Mary Kay Foundation. The race will challenge your heart in two ways — first, by supporting a good cause and second, by getting your heart pumping.

All proceeds will go to both the Mary Kay Foundation and to the Southwest Crisis Center. Both causes are committed to creating safety through housing/shelter programs for those experiencing of domestic and sexual violence and their families.
