COTTONWOOD COUNTY — A 72-year-old Round Lake man is dead after a crash Friday evening on U.S. 71, near Cottonwood County 11, in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County.
James Lynn Feltman was driving a 2007 Peterbilt semi northbound on U.S. 71 when it collided with a southbound 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Theresa Marie Novacek, 59, of Monticello.
Feltman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was deceased at the scene after the semi rolled into the ditch. The semi’s airbag didn’t deploy.
The crash was reported at 6:15 p.m., according to a report released by the Minnesota State Patrol.
Novaceck was not injured, and she was wearing her seatbelt. Passengers in the Dodge Ram included Eugene Joseph Bauer, 83, of Monticello, and Rebecca Ann Witschen, 57, of Big Lake. Neither were injured, and both were wearing seatbelts.

Assisting at the scene were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Sanborn Fire Department and Springfield Ambulance.
