MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota Arts Council recently awarded a $10,000 Equipment & facilities Improvement Grant to JD Productions, Inc., of Jackson.

Owner Brent Pavelko has spent significant time renovating the interior, using an eclectic mix of materials and decor relating to Lakefield and the surrounding region itself.

The funds will be used to purchase a portable stage to allow live theater performances in a larger variety of locations, diversifying the company’s audiences and opportunities as well as the area’s exposure to live theater.

JD Productions will also improve its dressing room option in the Round Lake Community Center by adding carpet and purchasing make-up supplies, including brushes, pads and spongers.
