WORTHINGTON — A Windom man was sentenced in Nobles County Fifth District Court on July 5, in a case previously reported on by The Globe.
A mental health screening was requested for 51-year-old Vincent Muccio, who was previously committed for treatment needs.
Lawmakers asked for a review amid an investigation of the nonprofit Feeding Our Future. Employees and others are accused of using $250 million intended for meal programs for real estate and travel.
Bernard George Smith, Jr., 25, was convicted of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a felony-level offense. Smith was charged back in November 2021, after being pursued at high speeds by local law enforcement along Interstate 90 and Minnesota 60.
Smith entered a guilty plea and was granted a stay of imposition by the court. He was sentenced to two years of probation, which, if completed successfully, will result in a misdemeanor conviction.
Smith’s sentence includes a $600 fine, as well as $85 in court fees.
