WORTHINGTON — Worthington’s Postmaster, Jauwanda Stone, was honored earlier this month with a Patriot Award for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Stone was nominated for the award by U.S. Postal Service employee Dana Veen, 1st Sergeant of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
Veen presented the award to Stone at the Worthington Post Office on Apr 5. The award was given in support of her employee’s service to the Minnesota National Guard.
Veen said he was very appreciative of her support and assistance with his Guard duties and time away for drills or deployments, and wanted to honor her. He said his fellow employees fully support what he is doing in the Guards as well.
Doug Broich, ESGR Region 3 Chair for ESGR/Minnesota Committee, also attended the presentation.
ESGR is an agency of the Department of Defense which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
