WILLMAR -- A 34-year-old New London man was arraigned Tuesday in Kandiyohi County District Court on felony charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and terroristic threats for allegedly taking a New London woman into Stearns County against her will. The woman safely escaped from a moving vehicle.
Unconditional bail was set at $80,000 for Brandon Thomas Sharp.
Conditional bail was set at $50,000, provided he has no contact with the woman, avoids the street on which she lives, possess no firearms and make no terroristic threats. His next appearance is scheduled Oct. 20.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of theft and reckless driving.
According to the complaint, a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched Saturday to Georgeville in Stearns County to investigate a report of kidnapping.

The alleged victim met the deputy and informed him that she and Sharp had a relationship and had broken up. She said he refused to accept the brake up and came to her New London home earlier that morning to talk. She said she later left for work and returned to find Sharp at her door intoxicated. He returned again and allegedly took her into his vehicle and drove away.
She said she couldn't escape because he kept hold of her and said that he had "just the spot for her" and that no one would ever find her. As the vehicle crossed into Stearns County, she recognized the home of Sharp's sister and saw her outside. She managed to escape Sharp's grip and fell out the door of the vehicle.
The vehicle then entered a ditch.
The woman said Sharp's sister came upon the scene and asked what happened. She said Sharp offered some excuse about just having sex and that he and his sister got into a vehicle and drove to another home.
