WILLMAR -- A 60-year-old Willmar man has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly molesting a 5-year-old girl at a daycare in rural Willmar.
Larry Alan Stoeser is being held in the county jail pending a Sept. 7 hearing. He faces one first- and one second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in Kandiyohi County District Court.
According to information from the state Department of Human Services website, the family child care license issued to Stoeser's address is listed as "temporary immediate suspension," and is subject to appeal.
Corinne Torkelson, supervisor for child care licensing for Kandiyohi County Family Services, verified that the child care license was under immediate suspension.
According to the complaint, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office received a report Monday alleging that Stoeser had inappropriately touched a 5-year-old girl while she was at day care. The girl had reported the touching to a parent and to her caregiver.

The girl was interviewed by family services officials and said that the touching happened when she and other children would take naps and sleep in the living room of the home.
Stoeser was interviewed, also on Monday, and initially denied any contact with the girl. He later allegedly admitted to touching the girl multiple times over the course of several months while he was lying next to her when she was trying to nap. He said he did not know why he did this to the girl.
He also stated he had assisted his wife in day care for about 11 years.
