FARGO, N.D. - A 42-year-old West Fargo man has been ordered to serve one year in custody for continually sexually abusing a girl when she was between the ages of 6 and 10.
Delwood Leon Mammenga previously pleaded guilty in Cass County District Court to the Class A felony charge alleging abuse between July 1998 and January 2003.
This morning, East Central Judicial District Court Judge Douglas Herman sentenced Mammenga to 20 years, first to serve one year, with the remaining 19 years suspended for 5 years, during which Mammenga will be on supervised probation.
Mammenga also must register as a sex offender and have no contact with minors. He also was ordered to pay a $1,000 legislative fee.
Mammenga was given credit for seven days already spent in custody and is expected to serve his sentence at the Cass County Jail.
