Man killed in Renville County ATV crash

FRANKLIN - Erik Lee Green, 34, of Franklin, died when the All-Terrain-Vehicle he was driving struck a vehicle parked on the shoulder of a road in Franklin in Renville County at 7:33 p.m. Thursday.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Department reported that Green was driving the ATV on County Road 5 in Franklin.
Responding EMS members of the Franklin Ambulance Service, North Memorial Ambulance of Redwood Falls and North Air Care attempted to resuscitate Green. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Green was traveling northbound on County Road 5 when it struck the back of a 2014 Dodge Journey.
Green was not wearing any protective safety gear and speed is suspected to be one of the contributing factors in this accident.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigation this crash.
