SIBLEY, Iowa -- One person was killed Sunday night and four others injured in a one-vehicle accident on Iowa 60 near the second Sibley exit.
Nicholas Carlson, 29, of Sturgeon Lake, was killed in the crash, which took place at 8:30 p.m.
According to the Iowa State Patrol report, a 1997 Chevy van operated by Christopher Kadlec, 28, of McGrath, Minn., was traveling northbound in the southbound lane when it failed to negotiate a curve and rolled into the ditch.
Kadlec and three other passengers, Mark Brune, 54, and Chay Brune, 24, both of Hinckley, and Donald Nelson, 23, of Stanchfield, were all transported by ambulance to Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley with injuries.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office provided assistance at the scene.
