MOORHEAD, Minn. - The man rescued from the Red River after accidentally falling in Friday has been identified by police as Lucas James Littleghost, 29, of Moorhead.
Littleghost is also known as Lucas Whiteshield, according to a news release issued Monday by Moorhead police.
As of Monday afternoon, Littleghost was at MeritCare Hospital and listed in critical condition.
Police said he had life-threatening injuries.
Lt. Tory Jacobson also released the names of the two witnesses on the scene: Littleghost's brother, Cheyenne Littleghost, 31; and Ronald Gary Brunette, 38.

Reports are still being compiled for the incident, but Jacobson said he doesn't expect charges will be filed.
Lucas Littleghost and two other men were walking on the Burlington Northern railroad bridge between downtown Moorhead and Fargo when Littleghost fell from the bridge and dropped 20 feet into the river below.
Littleghost was rescued from the water by Josie Green, an 18-year-old Minnesota State University Moorhead freshman who was jogging along the bike path in Riverfront Park around the same time.
