After an early morning search by local law enforcement and fire department personnel, a missing child was found safe on Easter Sunday morning.
The Worthington Law Enforcement Center received the report of a missing 4-year-old juvenile female at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday. Her parents reported her missing from the Thompson Hotel apartments, 1009 Third Ave.
At 2:35 a.m., a full department call-out was issued for area law enforcement personnel to assist with the search. At 3:30 a.m., the Worthington Fire Department was paged to help locate the missing child.
According to Chris Cummings, second assistant fire chief, more than 30 fire department members responded to the call. The search was concentrated in the downtown Worthington area, all the way down to the Atrium High Rise.
Cummings said it had been a long time since the fire department had been called to assist with such an operation.

"We don't like those kind of calls when they come in," he said. "But it turned out better than we were afraid it might."
The child was located at 4:48 a.m. Sunday in another apartment in the Hotel Thompson.
