WORTHINGTON -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is cautioning motorists driving on highways from St. James to Fairmont and points west of slippery and icy roadways.
The icy conditions are expected to continue to move east and affect all roads within the next few hours. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
The National Weather Service predicts rain, freezing rain, snow and winds will continue throughout Wednesday.
MnDOT snow plows and crews are currently plowing and treating the roads with salt and will continue with operation as needed. Plow drivers will continue to check weather forecasts and road conditions.
MnDOT advises motorists to drive slowly, allow more time to get to destinations, stay at least five car lengths behind the plow and make sure vehicles are properly equipped.
