ST. PAUL - Minnesota college administrators would get a pay freeze under a proposal recommended today by the chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
Chancellor James McCormick called for 570 administrators at the campuses and the system office to receive no across-the-board salary increases over the next two years.
The board of trustees is expected to act on the recommendation in May.
Meanwhile, the faculty union representing two-year campuses in the system has reached a tentative contract agreement that also calls for a salary freeze.
The union represents 4,400 faculty in the state, including those at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

The agreement needs approval from the full membership of the union and the board of trustees.
The agreement is similar to the one approved by faculty from four-year universities, including Minnesota State University Moorhead.
