Monday lawn mowing accident claims life of rural Rushmore boy

RUSHMORE — A 7-year-old boy from rural Rushmore died Monday afternoon in a lawn mowing accident, the Nobles County Sheriff's Office reports.

Kelvyn Leuthold was taken to Sanford Worthington Emergency Services, where he was declared deceased.

According to a press release issued Tuesday morning, the Nobles County Sheriff's office received a 911 call to 21919 330th St., Rushmore, in reference to a lawn mowing accident. While responding, deputies were informed Leuthold was already being transported to the hospital.

Deputies discovered Leuthold was unresponsive at the hospital and he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.
