LUVERNE -- A Luverne man died as the result of a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon  just outside of Luverne.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Chad H. Carlson, 39,  was operating a 2006 Honda Roadster when he lost control of the motorcycle at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 75, ½ mile north of Luverne.

The Luverne Ambulance and Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, and an air ambulance also responded. He was transported to Sanford Luverne Hospital.

According to the state patrol report, Carlson was not wearing a helmet.
