OKABENA -- Murray County Central outscored Southwest Star Concept by four points in overtime Monday night to post a 58-54, non-conference, girls basketball victory.
SSC (11-6) led almost the entire first half before MCC opened up a 47-40 lead with five minutes to go in regulation.
The Quasars then regained the lead with 13 seconds left, as Linnea Henkels hit two free throws to make it 52-51.
However, MCC's Rachel Christiansen was fouled with five seconds left. She made the second foul shot to tie the score, forcing overtime.
Christiansen then scored the extra period's first two points, and MCC went on to win its 12th straight game.

MCC (15-2 and ranked fifth in Class A) was paced by Christiansen's 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Janeane Robinson scored 12 points, and Laura Beers tallied 10 points, four steals and three assists for the Rebels, who visit Edgerton tonight.
Henkels totaled 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals to lead SSC, while Brooke DeWall charted 15 points, eight boards and two steals.
Whitney Place (eight points) and Sydney Place (four assists) each claimed six rebounds for the Quasars, who host ML-B-O tonight.

EDGERTON -- Maggie Kuhlman scored 16 points and the Luverne Cardinals 18-point halftime lead proved to be just enough against Edgerton.

Erin Hoiland added 12 and Samantha Gacke had 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals as the Cardinals (9-9) built a 43-25 halftime edge.
Amy Kallemeyn led all scorers with 24 points and 14 rebounds as Edgerton cut the deficit to two (57-55 with 59 seconds left), but was unable to get the final basket to erase the deficit.
Alexa Vanden Bosch followed with 13 points for Edgerton (7-10), with Heather Van Kley scoring 11 points and Katie Hadler dishing out eight assists.

ELLSWORTH -- Amy Tiesler turned in a strong performance for Ellsworth (28 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists and five steals) for the victorious Panthers.
Brooke Kramer and Rosie Lewis each added 12 for Ellsworth (10-9), while Amanda Connors added 10.

SPRINGFIELD -- Matt Moldan scored 11 points and Chase Bierman added nine -- including two free throws with 17 seconds left -- as Red Rock Central won a rescheduled game.
Zach Sturm had 13 points to lead Springfield (6-11), while Mason Fredin had 10.
RRC is now 7-10.

SLAYTON -- Russell-Tyler-Ruthton broke open a close game in the first half with a 16-4 run, pulling away from Murray County Central.
Travis Schultz led all scorers with 26 points for R-T-R (18-1). Kyle Minett added 18 and Brett Newton had 14.
Chris LeTendre paced MCC (9-7) with 19 points, followed by Paul Counter with 16 points and Derik Johnson with 15.
