SAUK RAPIDS - The names of two people that died when a plane they were flying in crashed into a house here Friday night are not being released pending family notification.
Authorities told the St. Cloud Times Sunday that one preliminary identification has been made but an official announcement has been delayed.
“One of the families hasn’t been notified yet. So, as soon as we can do that, hopefully as soon as possible - maybe tomorrow or the next day - we can get something out. It’s going to take a bit to do a 100 percent positive identification of the remains … they weren’t identifiable in the house,” said Sauk Rapids Police Chief Perry Beise.
