WORTHINGTON — Nobles County Historical Society will host a New Volunteer Orientation at 3 p.m. Jan. 6, in the Nobles County Heritage Center in the historic Worthington Armory.

Anyone interested in volunteering for NCHS is invited to attend.

Volunteers are needed to work with visitors, scan photos, research historical topics, maintain buildings, sort photos and artifacts, help with IT/computer maintenance, create and edit videos and more.

A large group of people turned out to bid farewell to Nobles County's latest draftees to the war effort as they left via busses for Fort Crook, Neb., where they would be inducted into the Army. It was Nobles County's largest draft contingent at the time. This image was published in the Daily Globe on April 18, 1942.

Prospective volunteers will receive information about opportunities and get a tour of the new facility.

If attending, please call (507) 295-5397 or email .
