Nowatzki's work deemed Best of Show at Art Rocks

LUVERNE -- Chris Nowatzki of Luverne won Best of Show in the sixth annual Art Rocks juried art show and festival Saturday in Luverne. The honor came with a $250 cash prize.

LUVERNE -- Chris Nowatzki of Luverne won Best of Show in the sixth annual Art Rocks juried art show and festival Saturday in Luverne. The honor came with a $250 cash prize.

In the 3D category, Jean Martin of Madelia earned the top prize of $100; while Cheryl Longseth of Sioux Falls, S.D., was honored with the Best 2D submission. She also received $100. The Patron's Award and $100 went to Jerry Fogg of Sioux Falls.

Merit Award winners, each receiving $50, include Jennifer White of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jerry Deuschle of Luverne, Jo Bunting of Redwood Falls and Kathy Deuschle, Luverne. Judges for the show were Bobbie Alsgaard-Lien, Gary Hartenhoff and Daniella Crouse.

Art Rocks is made possible in part by a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council (SMAHC) and is funded, in part, by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature.
