THE REV. JACKIE MOON, 58, of White River, formerly of Windom, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at the Rosebud Hospital.
Born Dec. 26, 1947, in Windom, she was the daughter of Allan and Shirley Erickson. She married Eldon Moon April 25, 1965, in Windom.
They lived in Windom, Lewistown, Mont., Yankton, S.D. and Beresford, S.D. She returned to school and graduated in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in alcohol and drug abuse studies. In 1993, she earned a master's degree from the University of South Dakota. In 2003, she graduated from the North American Baptist Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. She was currently serving the Methodist churches in White River and Mission, S.D.
Surviving are her husband; three children, Lisa (Eric) Vernon, David (Diana) Moon, and Stacey (Robin) Deery; father, Allen (Betty) Erickson; two brothers, Michael (Linda) Erickson and Kevin (Ann) Erickson; one sister, Joanne (Clark) Brandt; seven grandchildren; and special friend Kathy Chesney.
The service was Friday at United Methodist Church, White River. Burial is 12:30 p.m. today in Windom.

BERNARD DOHLMANN, 86, of Magnolia, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at his home.
Born June 4, 1920, in Steen, he was the son of George and Elizabeth Tjepkes Dohlmann. He married Darlene Kuechenmeister Oct. 9, 1946, in Adrian.
He grew up and attended country schools in Rock County. He worked on the family farm until being drafted in the U.S. Army. He served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater from 1942 until his discharge in 1945. After marriage, the couple lived in Magnolia, where he worked for Spease Tire Shop in Luverne and later Midwest Standard for more than 30 years. He retired in 1979. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Magnolia, the Luverne VFW and the Luverne American Legion.
Surviving are his wife; two children, Bernard (Helen) Dohlmann Jr., Hawley, and Victoria (Paul) Fickbohm, Florence, Ala.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. today at United Methodist Church, Magnolia, with the Rev. John Strunk officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.
Dingmann Funeral Home, Luverne, is in charge of arrangements.
LOYD GEORGE DOWNS, 98, of Windom, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at the Sogge Good Samaritan Center, Windom.
Born Aug. 5, 1908, in Great Bend Township, Cottonwood County, he was the son of Pearl and Caroline Oddson Downs. He married Mildred "Polly" Purrington Nov. 4, 1933. She died in June 1982. He married Vivian Lundstrom in July 1986.

He attended school in Great Bend Township and Lamberton, graduating in 1927. He took over his father's business as a water well digger and ran it for 20 years. In 1945, he started the Culligan Soft Water Service in Windom, and provided softener service and bulk water delivery until 1967. In June 2000, he became a resident of the Sogge Good Samaritan Center, Windom.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Kleven (Darlene) Downs, Appleton, Wis.; one daughter, Sharon (Larry) Walsh, Mapleton; one stepson, Kent (Ann) Lundstrom, Northfield; one stepdaughter, Susan (John) Lee, Windom; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom.
The service is 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom.
CELIA "TOOTS" HAY, 76, of Windom, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Born May 7, 1930, in Dickinson County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ruth Hay.
In 1936, she moved with her mother and grandparents to a farm in rural Windom, where she attended Bingham Lake High School. She lived on the farm until 1975, when she moved to a home in Windom. In 1957, she attended Johnson Beauty School, Mankato, and worked in a Windom shop for many years. In 1972 she began working at Toro Company, retiring in 1999. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Windom, and the Red Hat Society.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom.
