JOSEPH HERMELING, 87, of Fulda, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Columba Church, Iona.

LINDA MARGARET LEOPOLD, 91, of Jeffers, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Lamberton.

Born Dec. 15, 1914, in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, she was the daughter of Emil L. and Katie M. Rupp Pankonin. She married Marvin L. Leopold on July 22, 1937, in Springfield. He died on Jan. 13, 1996.
She was raised on the family farm north of Jeffers. She received her education at District 35 country school and then attended Lamberton High School. After marriage, they made their home in Jeffers, and she was a homemaker. She became a resident of Valley View Manor, Lamberton, in November 2005. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeffers, where she worked on quilts for Lutheran Relief with the Ladies Aid.
Surviving are three daughters, Carol (Henry) Aden, Wymore, Neb., Lois Arndtson, Mankato, and Jane (Duane) Strausser, Sheboygan Wis.; one brother, George Pankonin, Sanborn; two sisters, Viola (John) Menken, Jeffers, and Arlene (Ray) Orloske, Windom; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Jeffers, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeffers.

LOYD DOWNS, 97, of Windom, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at Sogge Good Samaritan Center, Windom.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m., at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom.
The service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Windom, with the Rev. Art Miller officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom.

JOHN A. TEN KLEY, 91, of Sheldon, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at Northwest Iowa Health Center Senior Care, Sheldon.
