HELEN ANNA HONKOMP, 90, of Ashton, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at St. John's Hospital, Maplewood.

Born March 14, 1916, in Hospers, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Margaret Sondergruth Roetzel. She married Clarence Honkomp Oct. 17, 1933. He died in 1977.

After marriage, they farmed near Ashton. She remained on the farm until 2003, when she moved to the Twin Cities. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ashton.

Surviving are one son, Roger (Rosalie) Honkomp, Roseville; one daughter, Joyce (Richard) Niichel, Pueblo West, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., a 4 p.m. rosary service and 7:30 p.m. vigil service, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ashton

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ashton, with the Rev. Clair Boes officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ashton.

Walton-Roste Funeral Home, Ashton, is in charge of the arrangements.

ERMA VAGTS, 91, of Boyden, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at Lyon Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Born Oct. 25, 1914, in Wheeler Township, Lyon County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Wilhelm and Wilhelmina Meyn Dickmann. She married Wilhelm Vagts Nov. 5, 1935, in Wheeler Township. He died June 7, 2001.

When she was 12 years old, her father died, so after she completed the eighth grade, she went to work for area farm families. After marriage, they lived in Boyden, and she fixed women's hair for many years in their home. She also worked for Boyden Produce for 16 years. She moved to George in 2001 and became a resident of Lyon Manor in 2004. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden, where she was active in UPW and Bible study.

Surviving are six daughters, Marlene (Gerald) Hollander, Iowa City, Iowa, Marian (Royce) Privett, Santee, Calif., Marie (Homer) Daniel, Sioux Falls, S.D., Bonnie (Nick) Berklich, Grand Blanc, Mich., Beverly Doorenbos, Rock Rapids, and Peggy (Mark Miller) Vagts, Dover, N.H.; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Roste Funeral Home, Rock Rapids.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Presbyterian church, Boyden. Burial will be in Boyden-Sheridan Township Cemetery.

JOSEPH M. KNUTSON, 50, of Tracy, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at his home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Almlie Funeral Home, Tracy, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Lutheran Church, Tracy.

The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Tracy City Cemetery.

LEONARD DEKKER, 83, of Worthington, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington.

Born Aug. 26, 1922, near Boyden, Iowa, he was the son of Bastiaan and Martha Herrewynen Dekker. He married Joan Sheel March 11, 1950.

He attended Boyden Public School and later country school near Sheldon. After marriage, they farmed northeast of Reading for 35 years. They retired and moved into Worthington in 1985. He was a member of the American Reformed Church, Worthington, where he had served on the Consistory. He had also served as a director of Nobles County Farm Bureau and a 4-H leader.

Surviving are his wife; four children, Peggy (Gary) Dekker, Santa Cruz, Aruba, Karl (Cindy) Dekker, Worthington, Martha (Randy) Lubben, Reading, and Janine Dekker, Maitland, Canada; one brother, Jacob (Fannie) Dekker, Worthington; two sisters, Marie Veen, Sanborn, Iowa, and Nell (Lowell) Dykshoorn, Spencer, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the American Reformed Church, Worthington.

ADALINE E. VAN MEETEREN, 85, of Sheldon, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Northwest Iowa Health Center Senior Care, Sheldon.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8:30 p.m., a 6 p.m. Christian Wake service and a 6:30 p.m. Catholic Daughters of America rosary, at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Sheldon.

The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Sheldon, with the Rev. Robert Schimmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Sheldon.

RICHARD "ANDY" THOMPSON, 78, of Hopkins, formerly of Jasper, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at Hopkins Care Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hartquist Funeral Home Foster Chapel, Jasper.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Jasper City Cemetery.

HENRY D. BOTHOF, 95, of Chandler, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Edgebrook Care Center, Edgerton.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chandler Reformed Church. Burial will be in Chandler Memorial Cemetery.
