LONNY DEAN BOESE, 44, of Pipestone, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Pipestone County Medical Center, Pipestone.

Born Nov. 5, 1961, in Appleton, he was the son of Bernard L. and Janet Olson Boese. He married Renee Rieck on Dec. 6, 1997, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pipestone.

He was raised on the family farm north of Holloway and attended school in Appleton. Active in 4-H and FFA, he received the FFA Baldwin Award at the Minnesota State Fair. He raised sheep when he was young, and in later years he raised Angus cattle. After graduating from Appleton High School in 1980, he attended North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D., where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree with a major in agriculture education. In 1984, he moved to Pipestone and began teaching agriculture at Pipestone High School and Jasper High School. After marriage, they resided in Pipestone and he continued teaching at Pipestone High School. During the summer months, he worked for Arp Construction. In September 2003, they moved to a farm in Troy Township, north of Pipestone. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pipestone. He served as president of Pheasants Forever in Pipestone County. He served on the Troy Township Board and was currently treasurer of the township. He was a member of Minnesota Association of Agriculture Educators. He had served as regional advisor for District 6.

Surviving are his wife; and one brother, Charles Boese, Fargo, N.D.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pipestone. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.

J. MARION LESTER, 90, of Worthington, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at South Shore Care Center in Worthington.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington.

The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Gordon Orde officiating. A private burial will precede the service at Worthington Memorial Garden Cemetery.

WILLYS KLINGENBERG, 88, of George, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Lyon Manor Care Center in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bolin Funeral Home, George.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zoar Presbyterian Church, rural George, with the Rev. Dale Lint officiating. Burial will be in the Zoar Presbyterian Cemetery.

JOHN CARROLL "JACK" PETERSON, 87, of Heron Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Worthington Regional Hospital.

Born Dec. 25, 1918, in LaCrosse Township, Jackson County, he was the son of Carl and Emma Eidhammer Peterson. He married Angeline Gronewold Meier on Dec. 3, 1950, in Slayton. She died May 24, 1969.

He grew up on the family farm and attended Okabena schools. He graduated from Okabena High School in 1938. On Jan. 6, 1941, he enlisted in the Army. He served in Rhineland, Central Europe and Kodiak, Ala., with Battery G 215th Coast Artillery, Antiaircraft. He was discharged as a sergeant on Oct. 16, 1945. He returned to the U.S. to farm near Round Lake. After marriage, they made their home in many places in southwest Minnesota where he continued to farm. After suffering a debilitating aneurysm, he worked as a farm hand. In the late 1980s, he moved to Heron Lake Prairie View Apartments. After being involved in a serious car accident in November 2003, he received daily care at Lakeview Home, Heron Lake.

Surviving are three sons, Gary (Sandy) Meier, Lakefield, Max (Ting) Peterson, Rockville, Md, and Nick (Carole) Peterson, Broomfield, Colo.; two daughters, Vickie (John) Peskey, Locust Grove, Ga., and Janet (Mike) Riesberg, Columbia Heights; one brother, Kenneth Peterson, Janesville; five sisters, Albertine Brody, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dorothy Fenstermacher, Worthington, Mildred Morrison, Worthington, Margaret Clark, Brooklyn Paerk, and Arlene (Jim) Leckband, Brewster; and nine grandchildren.

The service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Kathleen Brandt officiating. A private burial, with military honors, will be in Worthington City Cemetery at a later date.

DELBERT WITTROCK, 97, of Lake Park, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Lake Park Care Center, Lake Park.

Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Turner Funeral Home, Lake Park.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Lake Park, with the Rev. Jeffery Bauer officiating. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park.

FRANCIS WILLIAM DEBATES, 62, of Jasper, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Sioux Valley Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne.

Born March 6, 1943, in Pipestone, he was the son of Emil and Leona Heitman DeBates. He married Marilyn Stillwell on Aug. 11, 1970, in St. Paul. She died June 11, 1994.

He was raised on the family farm two miles south of Jasper. Following his schooling in Jasper, he drove truck for Powell Trucking and worked for Home Light and Power for a short time. He then began working for Tri-State Electric, Sioux Falls, S.D. Following marriage, they resided in Jasper. He continued to work for Tri-State Electric for more than 25 years. After his wife's death, he continued to reside at their home in Jasper. On Feb. 14, 2006, he entered Sioux Valley Luverne Hospice Cottage. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Jasper. He was active for many years with the Jasper Ambulance Association and helped with the local Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Goat Club.

Surviving are one son, Ryan (Stacy) DeBates, Luverne; one daughter, Lana (Joel) Baerenwald, Jasper; one brother, James (Eleanor) DeBates, Jasper; three sisters, Dorothy (Richard) Henry, Port Clinton, Ohio, Eileen (Cletus) Janni, Ankeny, Iowa, and Barbara (Barry) Brooks, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jasper.

The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jasper. Burial will be at New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.

ALAN ANDRINGA, 54, of Sheldon, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Cornerstone United Reformed Church, Sanborn, Iowa.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cornerstone United Reformed Church, Sanborn, Iowa, with the Rev. Jacques Roets officiating. Burial will be 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn.

FRAN GETZEL, 96, of Fulda, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Worthington Regional Hospital in Worthington.

Services are pending with Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda.

ROY JOSEPH GALLAGHER, 84, of Larchwood, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at his family's home.

Born July 29, 1921, in Sioux Falls, S.D., he was the son of John and Mae Burke Gallagher. He married Margaret Rose Olson in 1944. She preceded him in death.

He graduated from Cathedral High School, Sioux Falls, in 1939 and enlisted in the Marine Corps in early 1942. He served in the South Pacific and stood guard at the American Legation in Bejing, China, in 1945. He moved to Larchwood in 1953 and with his son, Jeff, have owned and operated Larchwood Lumber Company for the last 52 years. He volunteered many hours to the Veterans Hospital and McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. For 20 years, he served on the Larchwood City Council and was mayor of Larchwood for several terms. He was a founding member of Larchwood Optimist Club and served as state governor of the Iowa Optimists.

Surviving are two sons, Tom (Terry) Gallagher, Salem, Ore., and Jeff (Trudy) Gallagher, Larchwood; two daughters, Joli Gallagher, Sioux Falls, and Jeri (Rick) Krsnak, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at St. Mary's Church, Larchwood. There will be a 7 p.m. vigil service.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Larchwood, with the Rev. Jeff Schleisman officiating. Burial will follow in Larchwood Cemetery.

AMANDA LILLIAN FRAHM, 91, of Lake Park, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at Lakes Regional Hospital of Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Born Feb. 7, 1915, in Spirit Lake, she was the daughter of Harry and Minne Anders Langfeldt. She married Herman Frahm on Nov. 26, 1939. He preceded her in death.

After marriage, they worked for others at farming, then began farming on their own west of Lake Park. They later moved to the Sioux Valley area. In 1961, they purchased Sunny Side Café in Lake Park. In 1963, they purchased a bar in Lake Park and called it Hermie's Place. They retired in 1982. She entered Lake Park Care Center on Feb. 16, 2001.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Cheney, Las Vegas, Nev., and Karla (Brad) Brinkman, Lake Park; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The service was Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sioux Valley, with the Rev. Gerald Gauthier officiating. Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park.

Turner Funeral Home of Lake Park was in charge of arrangements.
