PEARL V. KLESSIG, 95, of Worthington, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Osceola Community Hospital, Sibley, Iowa.
Born Feb. 16, 1911, in Alton, Iowa, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Christina Druyvestine Ketel. She married Roy Klessig in the Bigelow Church. He died in 1980.
She grew up in Bigelow and graduated from Bigelow School. After marriage, they lived in Bigelow until 1979, when they moved to Colorado Springs. She moved to Worthington in 1980.
Surviving are one son, Gaylord (Marlys) Klessig, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one sister, Yvonne Hughes, Nevis.
The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, with the Rev. Ronald Lammers officiating. Burial will be in Ransom Township Cemetery.

GERTIE RADTKE, 80, of Mountain Lake, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Good Samaritan Village, Mountain Lake.
Born May 16, 1925, in Brown County, she was the daughter of Louie and Hattie Elsing Menken. She married Edward Radtke Oct. 18, 1945, at the Christian Reformed Church, near Mountain Lake. He died Oct. 24, 2004.

After marriage, they farmed in the Butterfield and Delft areas until 1962, when they moved to Mountain Lake. She worked at Hiebert Greenhouse in Mountain Lake for 30 years. She was a member of Immanuel Mennonite Church, Delft, where she was active in many committees.
Surviving are two sons, DeLyle (Pam) Radtke, LeRoy (Diane) Radtke, both of Mountain Lake; two daughters, Linda Coe, Pleasanton, Calif., Judith (Jerry) Friesen, Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Duane (Elsie) Menken, Fort Morgan, Colo., Delmar Menken, Hot Springs, S.D.; two sisters, Henrietta (Menno) Hulzebos, Mountain Lake, Marcella Barlow, San Marcos, Calif.; one step-sister, Susan (Jerry) Neufeld, Mountain Lake; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

JOHN ALLBRIGHT, 88, of Phoenix, formerly of Rock Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, in Phoenix.
Born Sept. 26, 1917, in Rock Rapids, he was the son of Mathew and Pauline Thompson Allbright. He married Pansy Scott in 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She died June 27, 1970.
He was raised in the Rock Rapids area and attended Rock Rapids Community Schools. He entered the U.S. Navy Oct. 2, 1939, and spent the next 20-plus years serving in Pearl Harbor, San Diego, Calif., South Pacific, Philippines and Korea. After his discharge in 1957, he worked as a meter test man at the Salt River Project. He also worked in administration at Riverside Steel Mill, Riverside, N.J. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Pearl Harbors Survivors Association and El Zariba Shrine of the Masons. In 1963, they moved to Phoenix for his wife's health.
Surviving are one son, Edgar (Karen) Scott, Canon City, Ariz.; one daughter, Sally (James) Roose, Phoenix; one brother, Charles Allbright, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one grandchild.

GLADYS KAMPARS, 86, of Fresno, formerly of Mountain Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, in Fresno.
Born May 31, 1910, in Mountain Lake, she was the daughter of Peter and Gertrude Bergman Klassen. She married Robert Kampars Jan. 9, 1950. He died in April 2004.
She grew up in Mountain Lake. She received her formal education at Wheaton, Ill., where she graduated with a Christian education degree in 1943. She continued her education with a year of graduate studies at the New York Biblical Seminary. From there, she joined Grace Bible Institute in Omaha as one of the faculty teaching preparatory English and Greek and serving as the dean of women. After two years at Grace, she made preparations for the mission field, departing for India in 1947. Under the Mennonite Mission Board, she served in the central part of India in an area called Champa. After marriage, they did missionary work in the northern part of India, for many years. They spent their retirement years in Fresno.
Surviving are three daughters, Ruth Deckert, Clearwater, Fla., Martha Bierce, Eugene, Ore., and MaryAnna Kampars, Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

CLARETTA BAARTMAN, 78, of Pipestone, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Born April 27, 1927, on the family farm in Fountain Prairie Township, Pipestone County, she was the daughter of Peter and Winnie VanderWoude Zeinstra. She married Bert "Bart" Baartman July 20, 1946, in Holland. He died July 22, 2003.
She was raised on the family farm and attended District 38 country school. After marriage, they lived and farmed in Aetna Township, Pipestone County. In 1966, they moved to Pipestone. She worked at Kings Court Motel for two years. She was then employed at Pipestone County Medical Center for 22 years until she retired. She volunteered at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone, where she served as a deacon. She was a member of Pipestone Christian Women and Pipestone Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce (Caroline) Baartman, and Curt (Deb) Baartman, both of Ruthton; one brother, Bernard Zeinstra, Holland; one sister, Pearl Pritchett, Pipestone; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery.
