CARL H. LORENZ, 94, of Trimont, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Trimont Health Care Center.

WESLEY TALLMAN, 96, of Lakefield, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Colonial Manor, Lakefield.

HERMAN R. STUBBE, 86, of Little Rock, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center, George, Iowa.

CLARENCE EDWARD EWY, 91, of Fulda, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda.
Born April 15, 1915, in Des Moines River Township, Murray County, he was the son of Jacob and Marie Von Holt Ewy.
He grew up on the family farm and attended District 96 country school. He remained on the farm with his sister, Edna, and took over after his parents retired. He delivered mail for the Avoca Post Office for many years. He became a resident of Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda, in December 2004. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Avoca, and served as an usher and on the church council.
Surviving are one brother, Elwood (Beverly) Ewy, Watertown, S.D.; and two sisters, Edna Ewy, Fulda, and Vera (Eldo) Langfeldt, Fulda.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Avoca.

HELENE E. "CURLY" JOHANNING, 83, of Heron Lake, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at the Sogge Nursing Home, Windom.
Born May 29, 1923, she was the daughter of William J. and Lisetta Eigenberg Kuehl. She married Frank Casey in 1943. They later divorced. She married Marvin Johanning in 1969. He died in 1985.
She grew up on the family farm on Oaks Lake and attended District 19 country school. After her first marriage, they owned a country club in Lake Benton for more than 15 years. After her second marriage, they managed a variety of businesses in South Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming and Minnesota. She spent the last 25 years in southwest Minnesota. She worked as a cook for several years at Paradise Alley, Heron Lake, and retired in 1996.
Surviving are one son, Ronald (Katyann) Casey, Battle Lake; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Heron Lake.
The service is 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mark Jackel-Juleen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the St. Kilian Cemetery.
