JEAN M. BAUER, 78, of Westbrook, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Slayton Manor Nursing Home, Slayton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Westbrook. The service will be 2 p....

JEAN M. BAUER, 78, of Westbrook, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Slayton Manor Nursing Home, Slayton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Westbrook.

The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Westbrook. Burial will be in Westbrook Cemetery.

MARIE HOLLANDER, 93, of George, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at George Good Samaritan Center.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Roste Funeral Home, George.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, George, with the Rev. Rick Johnson. Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George.

FRANCES DICKMANN, 84, of George, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at the George Good Samaritan Center.

Born Feb. 8, 1922, in rural George, she was the daughter of August and Marie Woelber Behrens. She married Ted Dickmann Dec. 6, 1945, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hull, Iowa. He died Nov. 14, 1995.

She attended Garfield No. 6 country school and at age 15 began to work for area families. After marriage, they lived on a farm west of Edna, Iowa, for 30 years. They retired in 1977 and moved into George. They spent winters in Arizona. After her husband's death, she continued to live in George and spend winters in Yuma, Ariz. In 2004, she became a resident of the George Good Samaritan Center. She had been a member of the Lyon County Historical Society, Otter Valley Golf Club and helped with the American Cancer Society.

Surviving are four brothers, Arnold (Helen) Behrens, Harley (Miriam) Behrens, both of George, Elmer Behrens, Sheldon, Iowa, and William (Ruth) Behrens, Westminster, Colo.; and three sisters, Verna (Bob) Sohl, Mount Pleasant, S.C., Wilma (Don) Ransom, Sheldon, and Betty (Don) Schisel, Mankato.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hull, with the Rev. John Riggle officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Hull.

HERMAN R. STUBBE, 86, of Little Rock, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the George Good Samaritan Center.

Born June 13, 1920, in Sioux City, Iowa, he was the son of Harm and Siena Kruse Stubbe. He married Dorothy Jean Venenga Dec. 13, 1945. She preceded him in death.

He attended country school and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After marriage, they lived in Sibley, Iowa, until 1961, when they moved to Little Rock. He did farm work and was later employed in construction. He became a resident of George Good Samaritan Center in January.

Surviving are three sons, Larry Stubbe, San Diego, Calif., Kenny (Patricia) Stubbe, Shakopee, and Herman Jr. (LaDonne) Stubbe, Inwood, Iowa; three daughters, Linda Sterler, Worthington, Joyce (Dennis) Mammenga, Deadwood, S.D., and Tammy (Clifford) Kruger, George; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, Little Rock, with the Rev. Scott Burdsall officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock.

STANLEY P. ROSENBERG, 84, of Worthington, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Franklin Health Center, Franklin.

Born Nov. 17, 1922, in Rushmore, he was the son of Edward and Clara Wick Rosenberg. He married Madeline Stephan June 15, 1949. She died July 30, 2002.

He attended rural school in Nobles County. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to the area and farmed. After marriage, they farmed in the Reading area. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Worthington.

Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne (Steve) Aagesen, Paynesville, and Nancy Clark, Silver Lake; one brother, Norman Rosenberg, Burnsville; one sister, Phyllis (Gene) Strouth, Strandburg, S.D.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Robert Schulze officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

WESLEY MARQUARDT TALLMAN, 96, of Lakefield, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Colonial Manor, Lakefield.

Born May 4, 1910, on the family farm in Heron Lake Township, he was the son of Augustine R. "Gus" and Ida Marquardt Tallman. He married Edna Malchow on June 15, 1936, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Heron Lake. She died Sept. 13, 2006.

He grew up on the family farm and attended District 66 School on Highway 86 in rural Lakefield. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Feb. 20, 1930, and was discharged on Feb. 19, 1934. After marriage, he farmed with his brother. In 1942, he and his wife moved into Lakefield, and he operated a dray business. He was also employed by the Lakefield Creamery, a local feed company and Cenex Oil Co. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lakefield. He was a member of local trap-shooting teams.

Surviving are one son, Gus (Joanne) Tallman, Shakopee; two daughters, Connie (David) Schlottach, Lakefield, and Tami (Don) Hedrick, Lakefield; one brother, John (Bernice) Tallman, Amboy; one sister, Florence Bakalyar, Lakefield; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The service was 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lakefield, with the Rev. Jonathan Nack officiating. Burial with military honors was in Lakefield Cemetery.
