DORIS ANN MANITZ, 70, of Round Lake, died Friday, March 10, 2006, at her home in Round Lake.

Born May 17, 1935, in rural Lake Park, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ernest and Irene Snell Mohni. She married William Manitz Jan. 25, 1953, in Round Lake.

She graduated from round Lake High School in 1952. After graduation, she went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Spirit Lake, Iowa. After marriage, they spent a year in Hutchinson, Kan., with the United States Air Force. They then lived in Round Lake. She worked at Campbell Soup Company in Worthington for several years and then at Sather's Inc. in Round Lake for 23 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Round Lake, and was active in the P.W. Association and Evening Circle. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Greg (Rhonda) Manitz, Edgerton, Scott (Michele) Manitz, Eden Prairie, Jay (Deb) Manitz, Mantorville; three daughters, Dana (Steve) Carlberg, North Mankato, Dee (Boyd) Funk, Commerce City, Colo., Jody (Mark) Jurgensen, Kasson; one sister, Lois (Les) Berends, Indianola, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The service will be 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, Round Lake, with the Rev. Robert Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery.

NORBERT "NORB" ANTHONY BAUSTIAN, 73, of Luverne, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Born Jan. 17, 1933, on a farm near Luverne, he was the son of Walter and Frances Brandenburg Baustian. He married Lila Satter June 13, 1962, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Luverne.

He attended country school in Springwater Township, Rock County. In 1951, he graduated from Luverne High School. After school, he farmed with his parents until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953. He returned home in 1955 and continued to farm with his parents. After marriage, they made their residence on the farm. They continued to live there until he retired in 2003. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Luverne. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and served on the Springwater Township Board for many years.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Tom (Theresa) Baustian, Luverne; three daughters, Julie (Fred) Slettom, Little Falls, Janet (Lennie) Varilek, Jackson, Shelley (Bryce) Jensen, Sioux Falls; two brothers, Lester (Leora) Baustian, Luverne, Walter (Jean) Baustian, Luverne; three sisters, Elaine Slaughter, Harlingen, Texas, Neva Clausen, Luverne, Sister Joan Baustian, Detroit, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. prayer service Wednesday at Hartquist Funeral Home, Engebretson Chapel, Luverne.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Luverne, with the Rev. Thomas Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

ORVILLE RUSSELL APPEL, 77, of Worthington, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Sunset Cottage, Worthington.

Born Sept. 28, 1928, in rural Jackson County, he was the son of Herman and Verda Miller Appel. He married Mavis Graff Feb. 8, 1947, in Worthington.

He attended school in Worthington. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After marriage, the couple lived in Worthington, where he was a land developer and building contractor. He served as alderman at-large on the Worthington City Council from 1976 to 1978. He was a member of the American Legion and had served on the board of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Steve (Jan) Appel, Worthington, and Scott Appel, Minneapolis; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation with family will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at 617 West Shore Drive, Worthington. Private burial will be near Park Rapids.

ROSEMARY HABERMAN, 68, of Brewster, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at her home near Brewster.

Arrangements are pending with Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.

MABEL SHORE, 103, of Worthington, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Worthington Regional Hospital.

Born Nov. 18, 1902, in Ransom Township, Nobles County, she was the daughter of Charles and Harriet Milton Shore.

She grew up attending school near the family farm by Rushmore. She graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture, St. Paul, in 1921. After graduating from high school and normal training in Worthington, she taught in Nobles County for 16 years. She then worked for 16 years in the business offices of the Clinic Hospital and Worthington Regional Hospital. At the age of 50, she attended a School of Cosmetology. She returned to Worthington, where she owned and operated Mabel's Beauty Shop, retiring in 1970. When she retired, she volunteered with RSVP and Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Gordon J. Orde officiating. Burial will be in Ransom Township Cemetery, rural Worthington.
