MARVIN COX, 74, of Gruver, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at his home.
Born Jan. 8, 1932, in Dunnell, he was the son of Leo and Mildred Iseminger Cox. He married Laura Ruckman Feb. 11, 1951, in Jackson. She died March 20, 2006.
He received his education in country schools in Petersburg. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After marriage, he farmed in the Graettinger, Iowa, area for a time and then moved to rural Jackson where he continued to farm. He also worked for John Morrell and Co. in Estherville, Iowa, for 33 years before retiring. In his younger years, he raced stock cars at the Jackson Speedway.
Surviving are his children, Gary (Jennifer) Cox, Webster City, Iowa, Ken (Debra) Cox, Willmar, Christina (Bill) Reetz, Rushmore, and Denise Markeson, Estherville; two brothers, Melvin (Marilyn) Cox, Fairmont, and Daryl Cox, St. Paul; two sisters, Leona Anderson, Fairmont, and Luella (Floyd) Johnson, Estherville; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Henry-Olson Funeral Home, Estherville.

LAURA BELLE COX, 74, of Gruver, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at her home.
Born Oct. 29, 1931, in Estherville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Thomas and Laura Anderson Ruckman. She married Marvin Cox Feb. 11, 1951, in Jackson. He died March 20, 2006.
She graduated from Estherville High School. After marriage, she was a homemaker, and they lived in the Graettinger, Iowa, area, where Marvin farmed. They later moved to rural Jackson and then to Estherville.
Surviving are her children, Gary (Jennifer) Cox, Webster City, Iowa, Ken (Debra) Cox, Willmar, Christina (Bill) Reetz, Rushmore, and Denise Markeson, Estherville; one sister, Mary (Austin) Meyer, Spirit Lake; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

ARLEEN T. WAZLAHOWSKI, 82, of Crystal, formerly of Heron Lake, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at North Memorial Residential Hospice, Brooklyn Center.

Born July 13, 1923, in LaCrosse Township, Jackson County, she was the daughter of Frederick and Anna Bartosh Wazlahowski.
She grew up on the family farm, attended District 33 country school, Sacred Heart School in Heron Lake and graduated in 1941 from Heron Lake High School. She farmed with her siblings on the family farm. She attended Worthington Junior College and moved to the Twin Cities in 1961. She was employed as an accountant by Cargill Inc. for 19 years. She had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Heron Lake, where she sang in the church choir for 19 years, and St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Crystal.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Crystal.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Crystal, with the Rev. Mark Juettner officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Heron Lake.

FOKJE "FLORENCE" DEJONG, 88, of Round Lake, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at South Shore Care Center, Worthington.
Born Feb. 20, 1918, on Oudeleye, Friesland, the Netherlands, she was the daughter of Anna "Andrew" and Maartje "Martha" Sinnema Plantinga. She married Dick DeJong Dec. 9, 1937, in Ocheyedan, Iowa. He died Sept. 20, 1990.
She came to the United States with her parents in 1923. She attended the Orange City, Iowa, Christian School and Allison Township School No. 4 in Osceola County, Iowa, where she graduated from the eighth grade. She worked as a baby-sitter and store clerk. After marriage, they spent some time in San Antonio, Texas, then returned to Iowa. They farmed in the Ocheyedan area from 1940 to 1951, when they moved south of Harris, Iowa. In 1964, they moved to a farm west of Round Lake. They quit farming in 1969 and moved into Worthington, where they owned a trucking business for five years. After her husband's death, she moved to Round Lake. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Round Lake, the Presbyterian Women, the Bethel Sunday School Group and the Samaritan Club in the Harris area and the Indian Lake Township Project Group 1.

Surviving are two sons, Robert DeJong, Eden Prairie, and Frederick (Becky) DeJong, Round Lake; one sister, Hilda Hoekstra, San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

LEONARD ARTHUR EDWARD MILLER, 91, of Lakefield, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Born Dec. 22, 1914, in Heron Lake Township, Jackson County, he was the son of Fred and Martha Wrase Miller. He married Verna Luebben May 2, 1943, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lakefield.
He grew up on the family farm and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. He helped on the farm. After marriage, they farmed the Miller Farm in Heron Lake Township. They retired from farming in 1980 and moved to Spencer, Iowa. They returned to Lakefield in 1995. They became residents of Colonial Manor in 2004. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had served on the finance board for many years.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Larry Miller, rural Lakefield; two daughters, Yvonne (Ray) Milbrath, rural Okabena, and Mavis (Gary) Health, Rochester; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hansen Funeral Home, Lakefield, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lakefield.

ARLETTA MOLENDORP, 88, of Sibley, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Osceola Community Hospital, Sibley.

DOROTHY MARION FLYNN, 82, of Fremont, formerly of Worthington, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Fremont Area Medical Center.
Born Feb. 11, 1924, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Otto and Dora Portz Jensen. She married Wayne Flynn Aug. 17, 1950, in Minneapolis. He died in August 1999.
She grew up and graduated from high school in Minneapolis. Prior to marriage, she worked at the University of Minnesota Library. After marriage and her husband's return from military service, they lived in southern Minnesota, most of the years in Worthington. In 2000, she moved to Fremont, where she was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one son, Robert Flynn, Prior Lake; two daughters, Linda (Craig) Steve, Dickinson, N.D., and Julie (Randy) Martin, Fremont; and four grandchildren.
