HENRIETTA ACHTERHOFF, 79, of Leota, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Reformed Church, Leota.

The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Reformed Church, Leota, with the Rev. David Vander Leest officiating. Burial will be in Leota Community Cemetery.

Leota Burial Association and Dingmann Funeral Home, Adrian, are in charge of arrangements.

MARVIN ANDREW ROEDER, 70, of Wilmont, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at St. Kilian Catholic Church.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian, with the Rev. Gerald Kosse officiating. Burial will be in the St. Kilian Cemetery.

Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.

CHRISTINE KRUSE, 93, of Sibley, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley.

Born Jan. 25, 1913, on a farm near Corona, S.D., she was the daughter of Enoch and Alida Jordan Block. She married Peter A. Kruse of George, Iowa, on Feb. 14, 1935, at the farm home of the Rev. Jacob Jordan. He died May 20, 1992.

She lived her youth and attended a country school near Corona. After marriage, they lived in White and Toronto, S.D., where they farmed. In 1964, they moved to Astoria, S.D., and did custodial work. They later moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., where Pete worked for the highway department and Christine did laundry for seminary students and custodial work for Northside Baptist Church. They moved to Westbrook for four years, then to George. After her husband's death, she moved to Sibley, and then to George, and then back to Sibley. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sibley. She was a Sunday school teacher, worked with ladies mission circles and made quilts, which were given to missionaries around the world.

Surviving are two sons, Charles (Carolyn) Kruse, Barnhart, Mo., and Edward (Gloria) Kruse, Sibley; one daughter, Alida Quenomoen, Montevideo; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Andringa Funeral Home, Sibley, Iowa.

The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Sibley, Iowa, with the Rev. Tom Voigt officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George, Iowa.

WILLIAM POSTMA, 91, of Sheldon, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at Northwest Iowa Health Center Senior Care in Sheldon.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service, Sheldon.

The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Reformed Church, Sheldon, with the Rev. Greg Timmer officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. at East Lawn Cemetery, Sheldon.

MARY LOUISE PETERSON, 92, of Pipestone, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone.

Born Aug. 27, 1913, in Lake Benton, she was the daughter of Elmer and Harriet Carlisle Keeler. She married Emery Peterson on April 13, 1935, in Detroit. He died in 1988.

As a small child, she moved with her family to Worthington for a couple of years, and then to Pipestone where she was raised and received her education. She graduated from Pipestone High School in 1931. After marriage, they resided in Detroit, Mich., where they lived until 1948 when they moved back to Pipestone. In 1954, she began working with her husband at the Pipestone Country Club golf course. They managed the Country Club through the 1960s. She was then employed at Pipestone County Medical Center as a cook for 13 years until retirement in 1984. After her husband's death, she continued to reside in their home until 2004 when she became a resident of Mary Jane Brown Nursing Home, Luverne. On May 24, 2004, she became a resident of Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary and the Pipestone County Historical Society.

Surviving are three children, Barbara (John) Strommer, Lakeville, Gerald "Jerry" (Karen) Peterson, Grand Blanc, Mich., and Dennis (Debra) Peterson, Torrance, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone. Burial is in New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.

DAYTON C. STAUBUS, 90, of Worthington, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at his home.

Arrangements are pending with Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.
