Alice Kolsrud, age 90 of Hills, MN died Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Crossroads Nursing Home in Worthington, MN.

Funeral services will be 10:30 Thursday, March 20th 2008, at the

Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN.

Visitation will be from 2p.m. - 8p.m. with family present from 6p.m. - 8p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills, MN. Burial will take place at Flowerfield Cemetery of Hills, MN.

Alice Edna (Ista) Kolsrud was born November 3, 1917 in Dakota County, Minnesota. She was the second daughter of 6 born

to Edwin and Agusta (Priebe) Ista. They lived on a farm near Hampton, MN. She attended a rural grade school in Dakota County MN and high school in Cannon Falls, MN.

On September 26, 1942 she married Melvin Kolsrud of Hills, MN at New Trier, Minnesota. They farmed for 20 years on the Kolsrud farm one mile east of Hills. After that they moved to Hills, rented farm land and continued farming. They had 3

sons. Harlan (Bonnie) Kolsrud of Worthington, MN, David (Char) Kolsrud of Beaver Creek, MN and Glenn Lee (died in infancy).

Alice was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hills

and later Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills. She taught Sunday

School for 37 years and served as the Sunday School Superintendent. She also taught Release Time and Vacation Bible

School. She was active in Ladies Aid and Circle at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills. She was a member of Town and Country Extension Club. Alice worked part time for 19 years with the Hills Telephone Company.Alice loved to sew and was active in the church sewing workshop as long as her sight permitted.

She also loved flowers, gardening, fishing and listening to all kinds of sports. She especially enjoyed going to her

grandchildren's games and for the last several years she enjoyed listening to her grandson, Kent, coach his girls' team.

Alice is survived by her two sons and their wives; four grandchildren, Kent (Paula) Kolsrud of Sioux Falls, SD, Stacie (Andy)Bommersbach of Holly, MI, Jill (fiancé Jason Blom) of Beaver Creek, MN, and Chris (Mary) Kolsrud of Brandon, SD; four great-grandchildren, Kylie Kolsrud, Kennedi Kolsrud, Sydney

Bommersbach and Jordyn Bommersbach; five sisters, Evelyn (Orley)

Burgess of Evergreen, CO, Betty (Walton) Spillman of Lakeville, MN, Joyce (Ivert) Anderson of New Brighten, MN, June (Cecil)Rust of Spokane, WA, and Dorothy (Norman) Johnson of Bloomington, MN; two sisters-in-law, Olive Kolsrud and Caroline Kolsrud of Sioux

Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by their infant son, Glenn Lee; her husband of 54 years, Melvin (died December 1996); three sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law.
