Obituary: Arthur Johnson

Arthur Johnson, 85, of Boca Raton, FL left to rest peacefully with the Lord on April 16, 2008. He was born in Kearney, NE on May 23, 1922. Arthur proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII.

Arthur Johnson, 85, of Boca Raton, FL left to rest peacefully with the Lord on April 16, 2008. He was born in Kearney, NE on May 23, 1922. Arthur proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII.

Art was preceded in death by his first wife Helen and son Christopher. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 36 years May, five sons: Kurt (Linda), Dean (Judy), Bob, Paul (Janet), and John (Shari), 4 daughters: Susan (Duane), Patricia (Steve), Ann Marie, and Mary Jo, 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and sister Bernice.

Art moved to Boca Raton in 1974 from Worthington, MN. He worked for the City of Boca Raton for 17 years. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was a flagman at local racetracks in MN prior to moving to FL. He was an avid NASCAR fan all his life. He loved flying and earned his pilots license in the 70's.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10:30-11 am on Monday, April 21 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am.

A place is vacant in our home. A voice we love is still. An emptiness within our hearts, the world can never fill. Our only comfort is to know you are in God's loving care.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the St. Joan of Arc Hunger Fund.
