Gerald "Farmer" Oostra, 80, of Sheldon, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Sanford Sheldon Hospital, Sheldon.
Surviving are five children, Jerry (Pamela) Oostra, Keller, Texas, Elaine (Richard) Buchman, Bedford, Texas, Kelvin (Karen) Oostra, Euless, Texas, Diane (Stephen Urban) Heusinkveld, Lake Country, Texas, and Brad (Kara) Oostra, Sheldon, Iowa; five brothers, Richard Oostra, Sioux Center, Iowa, Jacob (Teresa) Oostra, Rock Valley, Iowa, Bill (Lois) Oostra, Winneconne, Wis., Andrew (Wilmina) Oostra, Rock Valley, and Robert (Muriel) Oostra, Hull, Iowa; two sisters, Mary Grooters, Hull, and Ruth Van Engen, Sioux Center; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The service is 10:30 a.m. today at First Christian Reformed Church, Sheldon, with the Rev. Greg Timmer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Sheldon.
