Victor "Vic" A. Schwab, the son of John and Martha (Ruther) Schwab, was born on September 23, 1925 on a farm near Fulda, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm, which was homesteaded

by his grandparents and attended country school through the 7th grade. His parents thought he needed a better Catholic education, so he attended St. Gabriel's Catholic

School in Fulda and graduated from the 8th grade. During the school year he lived during the weekdays with Mrs. Margaret Downey in Fulda. Vic then started farming with his father. In January 1945 he was drafted into the U.S. Army.

While Vic was in the Army he was united in marriage to Mildred Dittman from Dundee, MN. After his honorable discharge from the Army they returned to live and farm the Schwab family farm. They continued farming until their retirement in 1985 when they
