Virgil Dollander was born on April 20, 1922 in Kenneth, Minnesota to Jake
and Mary Serie Dollander.
He grew up on the family farm near Magnolia, MN and attended country school. On June 2, 1943 he and Kathleen Fath were married at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lismore, MN. Following their marriage they farmed on the family farm near Magnolia until 1968 when they moved to a farm near Lake Shetek, Murray County, MN. In addition to farming Virgil also worked at Champion Home in Slayton and drove truck for Rupp Construction in Slayton.
In 1982 they retired and moved to Slayton. In May of 2007 they moved to Sunrise Terrace Apartments in Slayton. Virgil passed away at his apartment in Slayton on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the age of 85. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in Slayton. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbas.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Dollander of Slayton, MN, four children and their spouses, Lowell and Shelly Dollander of Augusta, GA,

Gene and Glenda Dollander of Evans, GA, Becky and Rich Luft of Currie, MN, and Tim and Jackie Dollander of Paradise Valley, AZ, one son-in-law, Larry Giltner of Canoga Park, CA, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Kuykendall of Vallejo, CA.
St. Ann's Church in Slayton, MN on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Patrick Arens officiating. Interment is at St. Ann's Cemetery in Slayton, MN.
