OKOBOJI, Iowa - Want to see more folks dive into freezing water?
One week after Worthington’s Deep Freeze Dip, a Polar Plunge event will be one of the many activities scheduled for the annual Okoboji Winter Games. A full slate of events begins Thursday, and the 36th annual festivities will continue through Sunday.
From the Polar Plunge (3 p.m. Saturday) to chess tournaments, there are a flurry of events for outdoor and indoor lovers alike. New events this year include the Mega Snow Pong and the Swimsuits and Snow Boots competition.

Boats, Bikes and Snowmobiles at Parks Marina
8 a.m. to midnight: Indoor Golf Tournament, Spirit Lake
9 p.m.: Swimsuits and Snow Boots Competition, The Okoboji Store.

7:30 to 8 a.m.: Hot air balloon rides at Arnolds Park
8 a.m.: Double Elimination Kickball Tournament at Arnolds Park, Broomball at Smith’s Bay, flag football at East Lake Okoboji; Snowball Softball Tournament at Arnolds Park
