Occupation: I retired two years ago from VanderStoep Furniture, Inc. of Edgerton, where I had been a partner for 40 years.
What prompted you to run for county commissioner? I have had an interest in serving at the county level for some time as both my father and grandfather were county commissioners. Now that I am retired, I have the time needed to dedicate to the job.
Do you have experience in leadership or local government? I have served on the following boards: Edgebrook Care Center, Chairman; Edgerton Public School, Chairman; Edgerton Burial Association, Chairman; Edgerton Chamber of Commerce, Edgerton Development Corporation; and Pipestone County Historical Society.
What do you think is the most important issue in your county? Making sure that taxpayer's dollars are spent wisely and keeping county government as efficient as possible.
