What prompted you to run for county commissioner?: I have had an interest in local government for a very long time. It was when I learned that our current District 5 commissioner was not seeking re-election that I made the decision to run for county commissioner. Having lived in this district all of my life, I want to bring a new perspective and common sense approach to county government. The Fulda area is a great place to live, work and raise a family, but it is very important to have a person representing this district that will listen to and stand up for our area while also having the ability to work with the other commissioners to get things done. I am that person.
I have had many opportunities to serve my community in leadership positions and in local government. I am currently a Bondin Township Supervisor, a position I have held since 2001. This position has given me a great deal of experience in dealing with roads, bridges, zoning, water and budgets. I am also currently the vice director of the Fulda Ambulance service where my duties include equipment maintenance, supply purchasing, and I assist with the budget and personnel.
This position gave me the opportunity to work with the county and all of the fire departments in the county on the development of the new ARMER Radio System for our County; this is a system that in the very near future will allow all law enforcement, emergency medical services, and fire departments to communicate state wide.

I have also served on the Pastoral Council at Saint Gabriel's Catholic Church where I am a member. I was also the Chief Ranger of the local court of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
What do you think is the most important issue in your county? Jobs is an important issue in our county. Murray County does not have many good job opportunities to keep our younger generation here to raise families and thus providing children for our schools.
I am a graduate of the Fulda High School, two of my children have graduated from here, and my two younger children are still attending the Fulda High School, so I know what an excellent school we have. It is becoming increasingly important to attract businesses to our area to provide the jobs necessary to support the families needed to maintain the enrollment needed to keep our schools operating at the high standards that we have come to expect.
Did the recent redistricting influence your decision to run? The recent redistricting did not influence my decision to run. My decision to run was based on a desire to serve the Fulda area and all of Murray County with honesty, common sense, and fiscal responsibility. I will work hard to ensure that the people of my district are treated fairly and their tax dollars are used wisely.
