RIVER FALLS, Wis. - A 17-year-old River Falls High School student was arrested by River Falls police Friday night for the armed robbery late last Monday night (Nov. 2) at Dick's Hometown Liquor. The handgun used in robbery has yet to be recovered, according to police investigator John Wilson.
Blake Halverson is in Pierce County Jail in Ellsworth awaiting charges expected to be filed soon by the district attorney once the police report on the case is finished.
Three high school students were said to be in the car that Halverson allegedly used to get away in after the robbery. Wilson said that one of those students, a 17-year-old boy, has been questioned about what happened but was not arrested.
Wilson said that as of Monday morning, the gun allegedly used in the robbery has not been found. He added that a tip from the public helped break the case last week.
The robbery at Dick's Hometown Liquor involved a lone gunman holding up a clerk and taking cash from the till. The gunman brought a bag to take the money.
