PIPESTONE -- Due to the extensive rain and flooding in Pipestone, Public Lands Day activities scheduled for today at Pipestone National Monument have been rescheduled for Oct. 2.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 2, volunteers will collect seeds from the monument's native tall grass prairie. Staff will provide instructions and assistance in collecting seeds. Seeds collected will be used in restoring the tall grass prairie on 15 acres of land donated by the Trust for Public Land.
Volunteers are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes.
The Friends of Pipestone National Monument will provide a light hot lunch and other refreshments.
