Rescued owl headed to St. Paul treatment center

EAST GRAND FORKS -- A male great horned owl with a suspected brain injury has been transported to St. Paul for treatment after being rescued Sunday under the Sorlie Bridge, according to a Facebook post by the East Grand Forks Police Department. Sgt.

Sgt. Steve DeMers responded to a call on the owl Sunday.
Tim Driscoll, director of the Urban Raptor Research Project in Grand Forks, rescued the owl.
Driscoll then transported the owl Monday afternoon to The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine in St. Paul.
