WINDOM — Sebastian Baker, 23, of Round Lake was sentenced last week to three years of supervised probation after entering an amended plea of guilty to a September 2019 third-degree burglary charge.
Baker was arrested last fall in connection with a series of regional burglaries, which he committed with co-defendants Coal Mayer and Jason Meyer. When the trio robbed the Cemstone Ready Mix plant in Windom, Mayer and Meyer physically entered the facility and stole about $150 worth of cash and Mountain Dew, while Baker drove the getaway car.
For his role in the burglary, Baker received a ruling called a stay of imposition, in which Fifth Judicial District Judge Christina Wietzema declared Baker guilty of the felony charge and allowed him to serve probation instead of prison time, but did not specify a prison sentence length of the stayed sentence.
Baker must abide by the terms of supervised probation for three years, or else return to court and face prison time. If he is able to satisfactorily complete probation, his conviction will be knocked down to a misdemeanor.
Baker was also ordered to serve 60 days in the local jail, but will not need to spend any more time behind bars after receiving credit for 115 days previously served. He must also pay a $1,000 fine.
