School bus sideswiped

CURRIE -- An 8-year-old student was onboard, but was not injured when the school bus she was riding was sideswiped by a semi-truck shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday on Minnesota 30.

CURRIE -- An 8-year-old student was onboard, but was not injured when the school bus she was riding was sideswiped by a semi-truck shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday on Minnesota 30.

According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, a Freightliner semi pulling a trailer was westbound on an icy road when it sideswiped the bus, running it off the black top approximately two miles east of Currie.

Semi-truck driver Jeffrey Prins, 38, of Kenneth, suffered no apparent injuries, and the truck had minor damage. School bus driver John Miller, 57, of Tracy, also showed no apparent in injuries. The bus received moderate damage and was towed, the report states.
